About Me
Hi! My name is Kira, and I am a dietetic intern at the University of Maryland.
I was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, and I am proud of my Canadian identity. My parents relocated my three brothers and me to the Washington DC area in 2001, where we graduated from high school in Montgomery County, Maryland.
After high school, I returned to Canada for university, this time going to the west coast. I attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, before moving back to Montgomery County. I became a chef, and after a couple of wonderful years in the kitchen, decided to combine my love of food and helping people in the healthcare setting by continuing my education. I went back to school and earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Food Science: Dietetics at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Free Time
In my free time, two of my greatest passions are knitting and running. I have knit countless hats and scarves, as well as blankets for all of my brothers and close friends. Recently, with the addition of several babies to my inner circle, I have made some cozy baby blankets too. Over the years, I have run dozens of races and recently ran the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler on Match Day in April!
