My technology rotation took place at the United States Department of Agriculture Food & Nutrition Service in Alexandria, Virginia.

For 7 weeks, I helped Team Nutrition review some amazing publications that were being readied for public release. One of those publications was the Grow It, Try It, Like It! Fun with Fruits and Vegetables at Family Child Care booklet, which is currently available as an online resource.

One of our first unique opportunities of being at FNS was being able to attend the first 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans public meeting, where the advisory committee heard presentations and discussed the initial logistics of the development process.

My partner, Michelle, and I were involved in designing a table for the Wellness Fair, which took place during our last week there. We had a board to guess the sugar content of popular drinks, a trivia wheel, and a physical activity. It was a huge success!

The last activity we did on our final day was to weigh grain products and record the amount of each that it takes to reach certain ounce equivalents. The best part was that the day overlapped with our classmates' beginning of their own technology rotation!
